Amer Abdallah reunites with Jeff Mayweather as he prepares for his next fight

By Jody Kohn

Following a successful collaboration with boxing trainer Jeff Mayweather last year, kickboxing champion Amer Abdallah has returned to Las Vegas to once again team up with the respected trainer for a portion of his training camp.

The United States WKA light heavyweight champion developed some great chemistry with the “quiet” Mayweather when they first worked together, and the result was a first round TKO victory for Abdallah and his team last June.  He hopes that another visit to the Mayweather Boxing Club will help produce similar results when he returns to the ring for his next fight in June.

Jeff Mayweather may be known for his own boxing career, as well as working with several world champions as a boxing trainer, but he has branched out in recent years, working with both MMA fighters and kickboxers.  Most notably, he has a long relationship with Muay Thai legend Dewey Cooper.  So it’s no stretch to see him teaming up with Abdallah as the New York based fighter looks to improve his already impressive hands.

Abdallah arrived at the gym at 12p.m. sharp on Monday afternoon to kick off his camp, and just like last year, things are busy as Floyd Mayweather is in camp at the same time.  The atmosphere seems to suit Abdallah well, as he really seems to enjoy surrounding himself with some of the great talent that can be found in the Mayweather Boxing Club.

We will keep you up to date with all that goes on in his camp as Abdallah continues his quest to receive the international recognition he deserves.
