Ashley Theophane reflects on fight with Pablo Cesar Cano

Although overall, it was a good night for The Money Team last Saturday night, there were a couple of fighters on the team that came up just a little short.

Along with Ishe Smith, Ashley Theophane lost a razor close decision as part of the historic Floyd Mayweather vs. Canelo Alvarez pay-per-view.  In a bout that could have possibly put him in line for a title shot, Theophane came up on the wrong end of a split decision against Pablo Cesar Cano, with the judges scoring it 93-97, 92-98 and 96-94 in favor of the hard-hitting Mexican fighter.

We spoke to the UK fighter just before he was to head back across the pond to get his thoughts on how his fight went, as well as what it was like to be part of such an enormous event.  Not one to dwell on lost opportunities, Theophane is looking forward to a bright future, one in which he fully intends to capture a major title.  He is looking to return to the ring before the end of the year, if possible, and return to his winning ways.  After some time back in his native country, he will return to Las Vegas to get back to the grind.

Stay tuned to PBI for the latest on Ashley, and to find out when any announcements as to his next fight are made official.  Also, be sure to keep in touch with him personally by following him on Twitter @AshleyTheophane.
