Fantasy Springs Resort Casino, Indio , California – Randy Caballero (16-0, 8 KO’s) defeated Manny Roman (15-2-2, 6 KO’s) by a 10 round unanimous decision, in a bantamweight scheduled bout on Showtime. Caballero knocked down Roman in the second round and was in control for the majority of the fight. The final scores were 97-92, and 96-93 twice.
In other action, Michael “The Artist” Perez (17-1-1, 10 KOs) won a 10 round split decision over fellow lightweight Fidel Maldonado (13-2, 11 KOs), that was booed by the crowd in attendance. Both fighters had their moments during the fight and in the last round Maldonado dropped Perez, but could not finish him. The split decision scores were 95-94 for Maldonado, 97-92 and 95-94 for Perez.
