Chavez Jr. antidoping test results come back negative

Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. as well as Andy Lee’s antidoping test results, came back clean. This is according to the World Boxing Council (WBC), who supervised last Saturday’s middleweight championship fight. Dick Cole, who is the Director of the Boxing Commission in Texas, confirmed the results.

This comes as a sigh of relieve for Chavez Jr. because of the criticism he received, for his unwillingness to conduct a post-fight drug test after his championship fight against Marco Antonio Rubio, back in February at San Antonio, Texas. The Texas Boxing Commission, did not enforce a post-fight drug test, in his fight against Rubio. Chavez Jr. failed a drug test back in 2009, when he fought Troy Rowland in Las Vegas. That bout was declared a no-contest.
