Convention Center Recap!

Here is the recap of the Keystone Boxing card at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, DC: Welterweight Dusty Harrison survived a knockdown in the sixth-round to win by unanimous decision over Marqus Jackson of Atlanta, GA. Harrison won by scores of 59-55 and 58-55 (twice) to remain undefeated at 8-0, four KO’s. Jackson is now 2-6, one NC, one KO.

Junior welterweight Richie “The Rock” Andrews of Stuarts Draft, VA won a four-round split decision over Harold “Sweet Lee” Parker of DC. Andrews won by scores of 39-37 and 38-37. Parker won one card 38-37. Andrews is now 4-2-3, one KO, Parker is 2-1, two KO’s.

Junior lightweight David Warren Huffman of Milwaukee, WI won a four-round majority decision in a rematch against Renaldo “Misunderstood” Gaines of District Heights, MD. Huffman was the aggressor throughout the contest and earned his first pro victory. Huffman is 1-7. Gaines is now 2-1.

Late sub Jimmy “The Dream” LeBlanc of South Boston, MA scored a fourth-round TKO over Josh Rupard of Charlotte Hall, MD in a junior middleweight battle. LeBlanc was a true veteran in this one, using great movement and landing crisp shots. The bout was stopped at 34 seconds of the fourth. Rupard is now 2-1, two KO’s while LeBlanc is 13-22-4, five KO’s.

DC light heavyweight Greg Newby won his pro debut with a first-round stoppage of Gavin Hume of Akron, OH. Newby used a body shot to close the show at 1:38 of the round. Hume was also making his pro debut.

Lightweight Joshua “Marvelous Mo” Parker, younger brother of Harold, won his pro debut with a second-round TKO over the equally-debuting Joseph Dixon of North Carolina. The time was 1:06 of the second.

Farrad “The Rose” Price of Suffolk, VA won a four-round unanimous decision over Issa Coulibaly of DC. Price is 2-0, Coulibaly is 0-2.
