Floyd Mayweather Sr. responds to Freddie Roach’s negative comments in classic Floyd style!

By Jody Kohn

It’s no secret that Freddie Roach and Floyd Mayweather Sr. don’t exchange Christmas cards.  So it came as no surprise when Roach recently said it was a gift for Manny Pacquiao that Floyd Mayweather Sr. would be in his son’s corner rather than Roger Mayweather who worked Jr.’s corner for many years.  Roach claimed that Roger was both a better fighter and trainer than his brother, and that it would definitely have an effect on the ability of Floyd Mayweather Jr. to perform at his best when he meets Manny Pacquiao on May 2 in Las Vegas.

We took those comments to Sr. to get his reaction, and as you might expect, he had plenty to say in response.  In typical Floyd Sr. fashion, he let Freddie Roach know just how little he thought of his abilities as a trainer, and even busted out one of his famous rhymes.  His brother Jeff Mayweather made a cameo, claiming that Floyd had stolen some of his material, however.

Even though Mayweather vs. Pacquiao is shaping up to be the biggest fight in the history of boxing, it appears as though Roach and Mayweather Sr. might steal some of the pre-fight spotlight.  Be sure to subscribe to the Mayweather Boxing Channel on YouTube since that is the exclusive home of Floyd Sr., Roger, and Jeff going forward.  There is sure to be a lot of interesting content to be found as we get closer to the fight.  You can subscribe by clicking HERE.
