With the recent controversy surrounding Manny Pacquiao and his anti-gay comments, you have to wonder if the possible super fight between Manny and Floyd Mayweather Jr. has lost some of its luster. After all, before it was being marketed as the ultimate good vs. evil match up. Now manny's star has lost a lot of its shine, with many in the media and the public now viewing him as a villain as well.

There is always money to be made when marketing good vs. evil. But there is a lot less interest in two guys going at it who have negative perceptions. And while many will allow Manny to state his opinion without holding it against him, many others will now view him negatively.

There is no doubt it is still a huge fight, but I can't help but think the fight has suffered some damage to its marketability. Let's hope it is something we will be able to find out eventually and the two figure out a way to get the fight signed
