Jeff Mayweather on Floyd Mayweather vs. Canelo, haters, more

The most anticipated fight in boxing has now been agreed to, and almost everyone has given their thoughts on the September 14 clash between Floyd Mayweather and Saul Alvarez.  It’s only natural to get the thoughts of those closest to the fighters, and here we spent a few minutes with boxing trainer, and uncle of Floyd, Jeff Mayweather.

Although usually referred to as “the quiet Mayweather,” Jeff is anything but shy when it comes to giving his opinion on boxing related matters.  Here, he goes into his thoughts about the fight, as well as what he thinks about those who are complaining that the fight will be held at a catchweight of 152 lbs.

The fight between Floyd Mayweather and Saul Alvarez will be held at the MGM in Las Vegas.  Both fighters will enter the contest with similar unbeaten records.  However, Floyd Mayweather is the veteran who has seen and done it all, and many consider him to be on the back end of his career.  Saul Alvarez is the younger fighter still growing in the sport, even though he is already a world champion.

The question to be answered during this confrontation will be if the young up-and-comer can deal with a wily veteran of the caliber of Floyd Mayweather Jr.  Additionally, it will be interesting to see how well Floyd does with a fighter who will likely have as much as a fifteen pound weight advantage by the time they step in the ring.  Previously, Floyd has not performed as well when he competed at heavier weights.
