Klitschko defeats Charr on a cut, Abdusalamov Ko’s Mcline

SC Olimpiyskiy, Moscow, Russia – Vitali Klitschko (45-2, 41 KOs) retained his WBC heavyweight title by a four round stoppage over Manuel Charr (21-1, 11 KOs). The height and reach advantage for Klitschko was too much for the challenger from Germany to overcome. Charr was dropped at the end of the second round. The referee and ring doctor halted the bout due to a cut suffered by Charr. The corner of Charr was upset at the stoppage because they were not given an opportunity to try and stop the blood.

Magomed Abdusalamov (16-0, 16 KOs) remained undefeated when he knocked out heavyweight veteran Jameel McCline (41-13-3, 24 KOs) in the second round. Abdusalamov ran into trouble in the first round when he was put on the floor by a McCline right hand and was slow to get up. In round two however,  Abdusalamov dropped McCline with a jab and the former title challenger was unable to beat the count.
