Lanell Bellows discusses Ishe Smith injury, being in camp with Floyd, his own fight

By Jody Kohn

We caught up with Money Team fighter Lanell Bellows (4-0-1, 4 KO’s) at the Mayweather Boxing Club to get his reaction to the injury sustained by Ishe Smith that forced him out of his scheduled IBF title fight with Carlos Molina.  Smith was supposed to defend his title for the first time on July 19 at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.

Despite the loss of the main event, the card will still go on.  Mickey Bey will step into the main event slot and Badou jack will be part of the co-main.  Once again, the card will be stacked with Money Team Fighters.

Lanell Bellows discussed the injury that caused Ishe Smith to pull out of the fight, as well as being worried that the cancellation of that fight would lead to his fight being cancelled as well.

Besides discussing the upcoming card, Lanell also goes into the circus atmosphere in the gym while Floyd Mayweather is in camp.  Mayweather is expected to start training in the next few days in preparation for his Sept. 14 fight with Saul Alvarez.

Bellows last fought on the undercard of the Mayweather-Guerrero card, scoring a fourth round knockout, giving him a KO in all four of his victories.
