Prescott, Barthelemy defeat opponents

Doubletree Miamimart Hotel, Miami, Florida – Junior welterweight Breidis Prescott (26-4, 18 KOs) tried to close the show early when he dropped Francisco Figueroa (20-5-1, 13KOs) twice in the first round. Figueroa survived and fought back with some fire of his own, actually dropping Prescott in the fifth and pressing some of the action. Prescott secured his lead and won an eight round unanimous decision with scores of 79-71, 77-73 and 78-71. Prescott has won two in a row since the TKO loss to Mike Alvarado from last year.

In the co-feature, super featherweight Rances Barthelemy (17-0, 11 KOs) won an eight round unanimous decision over Alejandro Rodriguez (14-7, 7 KOs) with scores of 80-71. Rodriguez went down in the first round.
