RIP referee Frank Capucchino

Frank was born on February 7th, 1929 in California but he grew up along with with his brother Vic and Family in Kensington, Philadelphia.

Frank was an amateur bóxer in the 1940´s, and became pro bóxer in 1949. In 1958 he became a Referee, and was sometimes a Judge. In both jobs, excellence was his gold standard.

Frank refereed almost 100 title bouts, including: Tyson vs. Spinks, Gatti vs. Ward I, Tyson vs. Mathis Jr., Whitaker vs. Rodríguez, Bowe vs. Biggs, Tyson vs. Stewart, Spinks vs. Cooney, Spinks vs. Davis, Hopkins vs. Hakkar, Lewis vs. Briggs, and so many more.

We will always remember Frank as an iconic boxing character, who dearly loved our Sport and dedicated himself to it. But we will also forever remember Frank as a great man- a marvelous human being.
