Satchell aims for Liverpool double over Spanish

Scouse ace Kevin Satchell says he and Liverpool can slay the Spaniards in their crucial forthcoming sporting clashes.

Satchell challenges reigning European Flyweight Champion Valery Yanchy, from La Coruna in Spain, for his crown on Saturday 25th October at the Liverpool Echo Arena, and four days earlier Liverpool face giants Real Madrid at home in their first-leg Champions League clash.

The 26-year-old Liverpool fan will be at Anfield to see the big match and believes watching his team rise to the challenge will inspire him to victory against Yanchy on a massive night of boxing alongside Merseyside stars Paul Butler, Liam Smith, Derry Mathews and Tom Stalker all in title action.

“It’s a very tough game for Liverpool against the current European champions and they’ve got it against them, but I believe they can do it,” said Satchell.

“While they’ve been unlucky recently, I think that because of the size of this game, how important it is and who it’s against, the players will lift themselves on a massive night to fight it out and beat Real Madrid,”

“The atmosphere will be amazing at Anfield, the crowd will stoke it up into a highly charged night and with the support of the fans I think they can pull of a memorable win.”

The undefeated 26-year-old is fired up for his own challenge for the European title and aims to add it to his British and Commonwealth belts in only his 13th contest.

Yanchy, 37, a pro since 2004, has only lost three times in 28 fights.  He claimed the European title in April against Andrea Sarritzu, having to travel to Italy for a second time after he held Sarritzu to a draw last October.

He added, “I’m also up against it when I face Yanchy, but I hope to make it an incredible week in Liverpool if both emerge victorious ”

“He’s a good solid operator and has the experience on me, but at 37 will he still have the legs to keep up with the pace and movement I’ll be setting from the first round?”

“And like Real Madrid, Yanchy is coming into my Liverpool cauldron, will he be able to cope with my hotbed of fans?”

“I’m putting everything into this title challenge, it’s on my doorstep, in front of my fans, and I won’t get a better opportunity than this to beat Yanchy and claim the European crown.”

Paul Butler headlines the Magnificent Seven show, plus Liam Smith challenging for the Vacant IBF Intercontinental Light-Middleweight Championship; Derry Mathews faces Adam Dingsdale for the Vacant WBA Continental Lightweight Championship; Kevin Satchell challenges European Flyweight Champion Valery Yanchy for his title, and Tom Stalker takes on Jack Catterall for the Vacant WBO European Light-Welterweight Championship. A quality packed undercard features undefeated talent Chris Eubank Jnr, Liam Williams, Steven Lewis, Michael Gomez Jnr, Matty Fagan, and the pro debuts of Michael Joynson and Mason Cartright.
