TWO BIG SHOWS: THE MAGDALENO BROTHERS AT TEXAS STATION!

LAS VEGAS – The popular fighting brothers – DIEGO AND JESSE MAGDALENO – of Las Vegas will fight on Top Rank’s “The Future is Now” back to back shows on Friday, August 3 and Saturday, August 4 in the Dallas Event Center at Texas Station Gambling Hall and Casino.

BOB ARUM of Top Rank made the announcement today.  “These are two entertaining boxing cards which I am certain fans will enjoy,” he said.

Tickets are $50, $25 for each boxing event. Fight fans can purchase a special two-night combo ticket. Two $50 tickets, one for each show, cost $75. Two $25 tickets, one for each show, costs $35.  Tickets will go on sale on Saturday, July 7 at all Station Casinos, The Fiestas, by calling 1-800-745-3000 or by logging on sclv.com/concerts.

The action begins on Friday, August 3 when MERCITO “NO MERCY” GESTA, the fiery unbeaten 25-0-1, 13 KO lightweight from Cebu, Philippines, takes on TY BARNETT, 19-2-1, 12 KOs, of Washington, D.C.

JESSE MAGDALENO, the very exciting, high-action unbeaten Las Vegas 10-0, 7 KO super bantamweight, will be in an eight round bout. MICKEY BEY, 18-0-1, 9 KOs, of Cleveland will take on lightweight ROB FRANKEL, 30-12-1, 6 KOs, of  Denver. This boxing card will be televised by ESPN’s Friday Night Fights.

First bell will be 5 pm. The televised bouts begin at 7 pm.

On Saturday, August 4, Telefutura will televise the main event featuring NABF champion DIEGO MAGDALENO of Las Vegas who takes on ANTONIO DAVIS of Atlanta, Ga.  Magdaleno, 22-0, 7 KOs, will defend his NABF super featherweight belt against Davis, 29-7, 13 KOs. This is a very important fight for Magdaleno who is hoping to fight for a world title later this year. Magdaleno is trained by PAT BARRY and ‘Kid Vegas’ AUGIE SANCHEZ.

MIKE LEE, the pride of Notre Dame – and more recently a star performer on televised Subway commercials – will be in a light heavyweight bout. Mike, 9-0, 5 KOs, is trained by RONNIE SHIELDS in Houston, Texas. Mike has never lost a fight, as an amateur or pro.

One of the best young fighters in America – unbeaten JOSE BENAVIDEZ, JR of Phoenix – will be in a six round bout in the super lightweight bout.  Benavidez, Jr., a very hard puncher, has a record of 15-0 12 KOs.

There are seven bouts on the card. First Bell is 6:30 pm and televised bouts begin 8:30 pm.
