By Jody Kohn Some of the top fighters and trainers inside the Mayweather Boxing Club give their predictions for the upcoming fight between Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Andre Berto. If you thought that their predictions would heavily favor Floyd, you would be right. But that doesn’t mean their answers aren’t fun to listen to. Check out what such notable fighters as Jeff Mayweather, Eddie Mustafa Muhammad, Quatavious Cash, Kevin Newman II, Lanardo Tyner, and others have to say.
By Jody Kohn When 6 year old Joe from San Diego stopped by the Mayweather Boxing Club, he wanted to do more than just watch. He wanted to train. And not only did he want to train, he wanted to work with ALL of the Mayweather brothers. And that is exactly what he did! The young man spent a couple of days at the legendary gym getting some pointers from Jeff, Roger and Floyd Sr. It was an incredible experience for Joe for sure. However, it was the grown ups who may have been more impressed, as Joe displayed incredible skill and passion for the sport. Here are some of the highlights of the couple days. If he keeps it up, there is no doubt […]

Not surprisingly, there was a wide variety of answers, some of which were quite surprising. Hear what fighters such as J’Leon Love, Nate Jones, Lanell Bellows, Ashley Theophane, and many more did when first starting out.

Luke Campbell MBE and Tommy Coyle clash at the KC Lightstream Stadium on August 1 live on Sky Sports, and the pair opened up on their fiery sparring when they were amateurs in Matchroom Boxing’s exclusive promo video. The Hull duo meet in an official eliminator for the WBC World Lightweight title, but after a spicy press conference, bragging rights on home turf for the former friends turned enemies could be the biggest prize on offer. The Lightweight stars clashed at a June media event over comments Campbell made in Boxing Monthly, and in our footage, both fighters recall their tussles at the St Paul’s Boxing Academy. “We had some bad sparring at St Pauls,” said Campbell. “Tommy was always the kid that would try […]

By Jody Kohn Shawn Porter and Adrien Broner were joined on stage by Floyd Mayweather Jr. on Friday as they weighed in for their big fight on Saturday night. As has been the case this week, it was Broner who did most of the talking as the fighters faced off for the final time before meeting in the ring. Additionally, surging prospect Errol Spence and Phil Lo Greco weighed in for their co-main event. Check out the video below to see all the action.

By Jody Kohn The two legendary trainers involved in the big fight Saturday night, Freddie Roach and Floyd Mayweather Sr., spoke with the media at the MGM Grand just 48 hours before Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather Jr. meet in the ring. They shared with the assembled media just why it is they believe their fighters will walk out of the ring victorious.
By Jody Kohn Floyd Mayweather Sr. gives one of his famous poems to the crowd that was hanging around following the open workouts for the fighters participating in the Mayweathervs. Pacquiao card at the MGM. Mayweather Sr. delivers, telling everyone just why it is that Manny Pacquiao has no chance when he enters the ring against Floyd Mayweather Jr. on Saturday night.
By Jody Kohn With the grand arrival of Floyd MayweatherJr. at the MGM Grand, fight week has officially kicked off. As you might expect with anything Floyd has his name attached to, things were crazy at the MGM as fans packed the arena to catch a glimpse of the fighter who makes up one half of the biggest fight in boxing history. A marching band, numerous celebrities, other top boxers and of course a ton of media joined the fans to partake in the festivities. Here is a look at some of the sites and sounds.
By Jody Kohn Jeremy “J Flash” Nichols apparently has a career as a comedian to fall back on if his career as a boxer doesn’t pan out. Floyd Mayweather’s sparring partner had a few moments to give us his impersonation of Manny Pacquiao, and we must say it was pretty good. Check it out and let us know what you think.
By Jody Kohn As May 2 fast approaches, Floyd Mayweather Jr. held his media day inside the Mayweather Boxing Club. Unlike previous media days, where many other fighters took part, on this day Floyd was joined only by Leo Santa Cruz who had a light workout a couple hours before Mayweather arrived. As you might expect, the scene was even more chaotic than a typical Mayweather media day. Outside there were tents propped up with food, souvenirs, and a place for interviews. Fans covered the parking lot looking to catch a glimpse of Floyd, or anyone else who decided to drop by. Ultimately, though things got started a few hours late, Floyd arrived and got down to business. Here is what it looked like from […]
By Jody Kohn Things were tense once again as Gabriel Rosado and Curtis Stevens weighed in just 24 hours before they meet in the pit for Rosado’s BKB middleweight title. It didn’t help when Rosado missed weight by a pound which set of Stevens’ trainer Shane Mosley. By Jody Kohn With impressive genes on his side, Keith Hunter just might be the best fighter to come out of his family. His father was a talented heavyweight during the 90’s and his brother Michael was an Olympian and is currently 7-0 in the professional ranks. However, Keith is fighting at just 147 lbs., and if his debut was an indicator, he might just be better than both. In fact, he might be the next superstar that boxing is currently craving. His dad and brother had slick skills that allowed them to beat most, but the youngest Hunter brings a ferocity into the ring that is rarely seen. Every punch is thrown with the intention of knocking someone out. In fact, his wars in […]
By Jody Kohn While things are often intense at the Mayweather Boxing Club with fighters preparing for upcoming fights, there is also a lot of fun to be had. That is especially the case when Floyd Mayweather Sr. is around. In these videos, we had just finished up an interview with rising cruiserweight star Andrew Tabiti, when Floyd Mayweather Sr. came in. Asked what he thought about Andrew as a fighter, Sr. was not as complimentary as you would expect! That’s when jeff came to Tabiti’s rescue and the brothers waged a war of words over the services of Tabiti.
By Rosario Grajales The fighters hit the scales just 24 hours before they meet in the center of the ring at Throwdown at Sam’s Town 3. Two title fights highlight the card with Wes Capper meeting Tony Hirsch in the main event. Additionally, a couple of fighters from the Mayweather Boxing Club will be in action. Charvis Holifield will be looking to collect his second win in his young career, and Keith Hunter follows in the footsteps of his dad (Mike Hunter) and brother (Michael Hunter) making his professional debut. If you are in Las Vegas, be sure to check out all the action. The fights start at 7:30 and tickets are available at the box office or online.
By Jody Kohn Saturday night, Keith Thurman continued his climb up the ranks with an exciting unanimous decision victory over Robert Guerrero. Also, Adrien Broner emerged victorious in his scrap with John Molina Jr., in a bout that was much less exciting. Thurman was unable to attend the post fight press conference, as he needed to go to the hospital to get the swelling on his head checked out. But all the other main participants were on hand to talk to the media.
By Jody Kohn Boxing returns to network television this weekend, but before the combatants hit the ring, they took to the stage one last time for their final press conference. Keith Thurman vs. Robert Guerrero will serve as the main event. This contest should be interesting. With an impressive outing here, Thurman should show he is a legitimate contender, and put himself in line to be a potential future opponent for Floyd Mayweather or Manny Pacquiao. As for Robert Guerrero, he is trying to prove he is still among the best in the division. In the co-main, Adrien Broner faces off with John Molina Jr. This fight features the slick boxing of Broner versus the rugged tenacity of Molina. Basically it all should boil down […]
