Mobile, Alabama – Heavyweight prospect Deontay Wilder (24-0, 24 KOs) wasted no time stopping Kertson “Warrior” Manswell (22-6, 17 KOs) in the first round on Saturday night at the Mobile Civic Center Expo Hall. Manswell was dropped three times by powerful shots from Wilder and the referee halted the one sided action.
Dmitriy Salita (34-1-1, 18 KOs) defeated fellow junior middleweight, journeyman Roberto Valenzuela (65-63-2, 54 KOs) by a fourth round TKO. A fight between Salita and WBA welterweight champion Paulie Malignaggi could be in the works next for both Brooklynites.
The undefeated streak of Puerto Rican sensation, Jayson “La Maravilla” Velez (19-0, 14 KOs), continued, as he knocked out Leivi Brea (18-10-3, 9 KOs) in round six.
