Top Rank®, SECA and SANDS CHINA LTD., who have been building the growth of boxing in the People’s Republic of China by producing and promoting seven world championship events in Macao over the past 20 months, announced that the second installment of their latest joint venture, “Fists of Power” attracted over 6.2 million viewers to its December 16 telecast.  “Fists of Power II,” a live televised boxing series for Mainland China featuring fighters from The Peoples Republic of China battling against international opposition,  was broadcast live throughout China via CCTV and regional channels in major cities like Beijing, Shanghai, and Guangzhou.

“Fists of Power II,” which emanated from the Mercedes-Benz Arena in Shanghai, featured two title bouts — undefeated Yang Lianhui, from Dalian, China, who fights under the ring name of  IK YANG, improved to 18-0, 13 KOs, and captured the vacant IBF Pan Pacific junior welterweight title when his opponent Fahsai Sakkreerin (41-6-1, 22 KOs), of Chiang Mai, Thailand, retired on his stool in the fifth round; andMay Yi Ming (12-5, 7 KOs), of Shenyang, China, captured the vacant WBO Asia Pacific junior flyweight title with a 10-round unanimous decision over savvy ring veteran Tommy Seran (24-4, 15 KOs), of Surabaya, Indonesia.

“Top Rank is delighted that together with our partners – SECA and Sands China –  we have been able to further popularize boxing in the great country of China, which has been validated by the ratings for our first two live telecasts,” said Hall of Fame promoter Bob Arum. “None of this would have been possible without the role of Ed Tracy, CEO of Sands China Ltd., who sparked this venture, and the encouragement and direction of the Chairman and CEO of Las Vegas Sands Corp., the legendary Sheldon Adelson.”
