Erik Skoglund (19-0, 10 KOs) will defend his European Light Heavyweight Title against Danilo D’Agata (12-1-1, 3 KOs) at the Blue Water Dokken in Esbjerg on April 12th.
Skoglund is back in action having successfully defended his European crown in a bloody battle against Spanish champion Adasat Rodriguez last November.
‘’The Rodriguez fight was a great experience for me,’’ said Skoglund. ‘’He was a tough fighter and despite being cut he kept coming forward. I got some good rounds under my belt and I was pleased to get the stoppage in the twelfth.’’
The 22 year-old Swede will now make his second defence against former Italian champion D’Agata and is expecting a different type of fight when the pair meet at the Blue Water Dokken.
‘’D’Agata is a different type of fighter than I am used to,’’ said Skoglund. ‘’He is taller than me and I expect him to try and keep the distance and work from the outside, as I have done in my last few fights. So my plan is to take the fight to him and put him under pressure from the first bell. I believe that ultimately I will be too strong for him.’’
Joining Skoglund in action at the Nordic Fight Night in Esbjerg is former Swedish Olympian Anthony Yigit (9-0-1, 3 KOs) who faces Danish light welterweight Kasper Bruun (19-0-1, 4 KOs) in a Scandinavian showdown. Tickets are available viahttp://www.billetten.dk.
