Katy Perry was sporting boxing attire when she closed out the MTV Video Music Awards show from the Brooklyn Bridge in New York City.
She sang her new single, “Roar,” in front of those in attendance, while dancing around in a boxing ring. Her outfit consisted of boxing shorts, boots, a tiger print bra, and some hand wraps. Somehow, Perry, 28, managed to pull the look off, looking quite sexy in the sporty clothing. It remains to be seen if the singer can take a punch, however.
The MTV Video Music Awards were held at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, but Perry chose to perform outside, taking advantage of the city’s beautiful backdrop for her performance.
Having won four previous VMA’s, Katy Perry released “Roar” on Aug. 10, and it has been a huge success for the pop singer.
Following the show, she tweeted to her fans about why she chose to wear the clothing she did for the performance, hinting that it was somewhat of a preview for the video of the song that will be coming out soon.
