Former world heavyweight title challenger Eddie Chambers has joined up with Team Fury, training alongside undefeated heavyweight sensations Tyson Fury and Hughie Lewis Fury.
The 31-year-old American teams up with trainer Peter Fury in a bid to fight for the world heavyweight title for a second time.
“We were impressed by him when he was in our training camp before, sparring with Tyson when he was preparing for his domestic clash with David Haye,” Peter said.
“He kept in touch with us when he went back to America and we told him that if he wanted to come over and train with us he would be more than welcome – he’s decided that it was the right choice for him, he’s part of the team now and I’m looking forward to seeing how he does.”
Chambers, who dropped down to cruiserweight for his last fight in August, slipping to a 10-round points defeat to South African Thabiso Mchunu, plans to compete back at heavyweight.
His record stands at 36 wins with four defeats and he has now joined the team in Cannes, France, during the second week of their training camp.
“He’s going back up to heavyweight and we’re very impressed with him, he’s a good fighter and he’s knuckling into the training,” Peter said.
“It’s good for Eddie and it’s good for us – we’ve got a world class fighter who’s a very technical, slick boxer and you can expect to see big improvements from Eddie.”
