Light-welterweight Catterall, from Chorley, is undefeated in seven pro fights with four knockouts and the 20-year-old has been turning heads with his powerful performances.
The heavy-handed southpaw has big ambitions in his career and is targeting the British title first.
Catterall said, “I’m really excited with my future now that I’ve signed with the best promoter in the UK in Frank Warren. He’s developed the best talent year after year and turned out champion after champion and I know with my ability in the ring and Frank’s promotional talent I know I can achieve my potential. I’m in this business to become the best and to become a world champion, but first my dream is to win the British title.”
Birmingham’s Costello, who will box at lightweight, has been heralded as one of the best amateurs to turn professional in recent years and is the youngest British boxer to win a European Gold Medal.
As a teenager, Costello was rated the best schoolboy boxer at 43kgs after winning the European Championship in 2007, dropping just three points on his way to gold.
He was named best boxer after winning national Schools honours in 2008, added the Junior ABA championships the following year and went almost four years unbeaten.
And Costello was voted BBC Midlands Young Sportsman of the Year in 2008.
After 37 wins in 42 bouts, Costello from Marston Green in Birmingham decided to turn professional after becoming disillusioned with the amateur sport.
Costello said, “I’m really buzzing to sign with Frank. He offered me with best deal which I’m really happy about and now I’m just looking forward to making my pro-debut. I achieved great things in the amateurs that I’m proud of, but now I’m entering a new chapter in my career as a professional and I hope to replicate the same success. I know that the pros will be a tough world and I’ve got a lot to learn, but I wouldn’t have it any other way and I’m ready for the challenge ahead.”
Warren, who recently signed double ABA Champion Simon Barclay and undefeated Tommy Langford to his books, is thrilled with his latest signings and is looking forward to developing them into champions.
He said, “They’re both top quality youngsters and I’m delighted to welcome them to Queensberry Promotions. Jack is a talented prospect and I’m excited to start working with him at this early stage of his career. Joe is one of the best amateurs to turn over in the last few year with fantastic credentials and I’m looking forward to getting to work on him. With Simon Barclay and Tommy Langford signing with me earlier this year and now with Jack and Joe, I’ll be announcing some more star signings shortly.”
