The ‘Jersey Boy’ GLEN TAPIA is back in action, taking on Keenan Collins at Bally’s Atlantic City on Saturday, June 14.
The Jersey Boy, fighting at junior middleweight, has a record of 20-1 with 12 KOs. Collins, from York, Pa., is 15-8-3, 10 KOs. The main event is scheduled for 10 rounds. This will be Tapia’s first bout since he took on and lost to James Kirkland in December here in Atlantic City.
Tapia, from Passaic, NJ, has been training for weeks with ‘Trainer of the Year’ FREDDIE ROACH at the Wild Card Gym in Hollywood.
“Glen is so happy getting back into the ring after a well needed rest. He is ready to achieve his goal of becoming a world champion,” said Pat Lynch, manager of Tapia. “Glen couldn’t be more happier training with Freddie. It’s something Glen wanted since meeting Freddie when he was in the Philippines training MANNY PACQUIAO before his fight with Antonio Margarito.”
The Top Rank card will be in the Grand Ballroom. Tickets are $75, $50 plus applicable fees and are available now at the Bally’s box office and at TICKETMASTER.COM.
Also appearing on the card will be unbeaten middleweight puncher JESSE HART, the fighting son of Philadelphia legend Eugene ‘Cyclone’ Hart. Hart has a record of 13-0, 10 KOs.
