In the main event of a of pro-am card promoted by Jimmy Burchfield’s Classic entertainment and Sports, “Hammerin” Hank Lundy improved to 25-3-1 (12 ko’s) as he defeated Pipino Cuevas Jr. by knockout. In what amounted to a stay busy fight against an overmatched opponent, the world rated Lundy landed his power shots at will. In the second round, Lundy hit Cuevas with a left hook to the temple that dropped him hard. Cuevas was able to beat the count of ten but was badly hurt and in no shape to continue. The fight was stopped at 2:23 of the second round as Cuevas dropped to 17-12 and should probably consider calling it a career. “They can’t run from me forever” said Lundy. “I’m beating everyone that they put in front of me and if I have to go up to 147 for a big fight I will.”
