World-ranked unbeaten heavyweight ANDY ‘DESTROYER’ RUIZ of Mexicali is off to Phoenix today to take on former champion Sergei Liakhovich at the CELEBRITY THEATRE ON SATURDAY, DECEMBER 20. Ruiz, 23-0, 17 KOs, has been training for weeks at the Top Rank Gym in Las Vegas.
He is ranked WBO #3, WBC #14. Liakhovich has a record of 26-6, 16 KOs. Ruiz vs. Liakhovich is the main event on Top Rank’s Solo Boxeo Tecate UniMas broadcast (11 pm et, 11 pm pt).

The event, co-promoted by IRON BOY PROMOTIONS, will include two-time Mexican Olympian OSCAR VALDEZ, 14-0, 12 KOs. Valdez will take on Jean Sotelo, 19-13-2, 10 KOs, of Colombia. The bout is scheduled for 8 rounds in the featherweight division.
