Kevin Newman II notched the first victory of his career on Friday night, as he dominated a tough, but over matched Sharif Johnson. From the opening bell, it seemed that the only thing to be determined was whether or not Newman would be able to get the stoppage.
Winning all rounds on all cards, Newman (1-0-1) and some of his supporters were still not satisfied with the performance, but there was no doubt it was an improvement over the draw he received in his first fight. We caught up with the young fighter and his coach, Jeff Mayweather, just a few minutes following the win.
