Prudential Center Newark, New Jersey – Tomasz Adamek (47-2, 29 KOs) defeated Travis Walker (39-8-1, 31 KOs), by TKO in the fifth round. Walker found success early with his jab in the opening round. In an exciting second round, Adamek was dropped with a right hand bomb. After getting up, Adamek once again was staggered. Towards the end of the round, Adamek records a knockdown of his own.
The Polish former two division champion had his best round in the third connecting on hard shots throughout the round. In the fourth, Adamek kept his hands busy landing the harder punches. It was all over in the fifth when Adamek stunned Walker with a four punch combination that had the fighter from Houston, Texas in trouble. Walker stumbled back on the ropes and the referee stopped the fight due to unanswered punches from Adamek. Adamek retained his IBF North American title.
