Amir Khan is a coward according to Breidis Prescott

By Michele Emrick

Junior welterweight contender Breidis Prescott (26-4 20 KO’s) thinks fellow fighter Amir Khan is afraid of him and any of the other fighters he has lost to in his own career.

Prescott, who is training hard down in Colombia presently, is ready to get back into the ring.  Just a couple days ago he challenged Lucas Matthysse who scored a spectacular knockout over Mike Dallas Jr. in Las Vegas on Saturday night.  However, it was the challenges thrown out by Amir Khan that really captured his attention.

In several articles recently, Khan has called out Vyacheslav Senchenko, hoping to challenge him April 20.  Apparently the challenge was being made in an attempt to avenge the loss Ricky Hatton suffered at the hands of Senchenko several months ago.  The loss ended the brief comeback attempt by Hatton who suffered a TKO in the fight.

The fighters were unable to agree on a catch-weight for the fight, therefore were unable to make the fight happen.  Breidis Prescott wondered why Amir Khan is so interested in avenging the losses of others when he has his own losses to deal with.

“He’s a coward. I would rather not waste my time and call him out. I’ve already said I’m willing to go to the UK and put him to sleep again. But he’s more interested in avenging Hatton’s loss than his own personal defeats. That is what you call a con job and that’s why he’ll never be respected. Real champions avenge their losses, not the losses of others,” Prescott said.

It remains to be seen if Khan will address the comments by Breidis Prescott, or let them fall on deaf ears.  If the past is any indicator of the future, Khan will opt for the latter, preferring to move on to what he considers more acceptable competition.
