Heather Hardy TD 7 Jackie Trivilino 66-67, 67-66, 68-65

Jackie Trivilino took the fight to Heather Hardy from the opening bell and landed the cleaner shots for most of seven rounds but unfortunately for Trivilino the fight was taking place in Hardy’s backyard. Trivilino came forward throughout the bout and began to close Hardy’s right eye in round two. To Hardy’s credit she showed tremendous heart as she fought the remainder of the bout with a mangled eye. It was ruled that an accidental head butt had started the damage to Hardy’s eye in round two and the eye just got worse. Trivilino was the aggressor but Hardy was able to fight fairly well backing up and seemed to swing the momentum in round four by making Trivilino miss and landing clean shots of her own. Hardy’s left hand was her best weapon and it is what she pulled out the fight with. Hardy improved to 10-0 (2KO’s) while Trivilino dropped to 9-8-3 (1KO).

Fedor Papazov TKO 3 Miguel Mendoza

In a back and forth war Fedor Papazov ended the fight abruptly with a straight right hand that dropped Miguel Mendoza hard. Mendoza was able to make it to his feet but he was out on his feet and the fight was stopped by his corner. Papazov is now 15-1 (10KO’s) and is line for a bigger fight in the lightweight division while Mendoza dropped to 21-4-2 (21KO’s).

Seanie Monaghan UD10 Elvir Muriqui 99-90 (thrice)

In a light heavyweight battle for the WBC Continental Americas title, Seanie Monaghan and Elvir Muriqui waged a fairly entertaining though one sided scrap. In the first round, both had their moments but Monaghan’s body worked carried it. Monaghan’s work rate was incredible during the first few rounds as he punched in combinations while Muriqui threw mostly one punch at a time. At the end of round four Monaghan landed a looping right hand on Muriqui’s chin that dropped him on the seat of his pants. After five rounds it was clear that Muriqui wasn’t going to be much more than a punching bag until somebody stepped in. The fight took a turn in the ninth round as two bad cuts were opened on each of Monaghan’s eyes. Although they seemed to be from butts it fired Muriqui up and the tenth round was a war that Elvir won. With the win Monaghan improved to 24-0 13 (KO’s) while Muriqui dropped to 40-7 24 (KO’s).
