As Twitter continues to expand, so to do the feuds that can result from things said in just 140 characters or less. Perhaps the latest is brewing as Billy Dib has said some things incredibly derogatory towards the current WBA featherweight champion.
Appearing on the KO Lounge radio show, Pelenchin was asked about his time sparring with Billy Dib previously. Caballero claimed, as has been widely reported before, that he dominated their sessions together. Furthermore, when asked if it were true that Billy had said he would not fight Caballero, Pelenchin said that Dib in fact told that to his trainer Jeff Mayweather.
Well, this conversation inevitably spilled over to Twitter when one of the hosts of the KO Lounge, @hollyhood009, questioned Dib about the incident. Dib and hollyhood went back and forth for a bit with Dib becoming increasingly irritated not only with the host, but with Caballero as well. In several of the posts Dib questioned Pelenchin’s sexuality, called him a nobody, and even claimed that the results of the sparring were the exact opposite of what was claimed. Here are some of the Tweets from Dib:
@TheRealBillyDib: hey @hollyhood009 Seriously is there something going on between you & @pelenchin1 ? You nobodys carry on like committed lovers.
@TheRealBillyDib: hey @hollyhood009 get your lover @pelenchin1 to show me the money& it’s on otherwise shut ur trap.
@TheRealBillyDib: @hollyhood009 You keep talking about the video. Plz put the entire session on YouTube & let the world decide who beat up who u clown.
Although Pelenchin has yet to chime in on this conversation, you can be sure that he would be more than willing to have a fight with Dib considering his current inability to get a fight scheduled. What is more interesting is the differences of opinion on the results of the sparring session. We will certainly look for more opinions from those who saw it, but Billy is the first we have heard claim he got the better of it.
Also, one has to wonder about the decision of Dib to both question Caballero’s sexuality and to call him a nobody. While Caballero is certainly not given the notoriety he is probably entitled to, it is pretty fair to say his name is higher on the marquee at this point than Dib’s.
With both fighters now under the umbrella of Mayweather Promotions, Caballero in search of a decent fight, and Dib apparently willing to face him, it would seem to make sense to get this fight signed sooner rather than later. It certainly would promise to be an exciting fight for the fans and go one step closer to unifying the titles with both the WBA and IBF straps on the line.
Over the coming days we will keep the readers updated on the situation and get comments from those who saw the sparring first hand.
