Brækhus predicts early stoppage in Copenhagen

Undisputed Female World Welterweight Champion Cecilia Brækhus (26-0, 7 KOs) believes a KO victory could be on the cards when she faces IBF mandatory challenger Jennifer Retzke (15-1-1, 9 KOs) on November 29 at the Falconer Hall at the Radisson Blu in Copenhagen.

The pound-for-pound queen, who became the first female boxer to unify a division by beating Croatian champion Ivana Habazin in September, has predicted Retzke will be unable to last the distance when the pair meet in the Danish capital.

‘’Retzke has my full respect for taking this fight,’’ said Brækhus. ’’But we are operating on two different levels. I don’t think she will be able to last 10 rounds with me.’’

Brækhus defends her world titles for a fourth time this year. Having only been out of the ring for two months, ‘The First Lady’ believes she will be at her most dangerous when she faces the German challenger on November 29.

‘’I’m already in great shape and I’m only going to get stronger,’’ said Brækhus. ‘’On November 29, I will be at my most dangerous. There was a lot of pressure in my last fight against Habazin. I had the chance to make history by winning my fourth major title. This time the pressure is off. That’s good news for me but bad news for her. I’ll be surprised if Retzke is still there to hear the final bell. I’m ready to make a statement. I’m the best and I’m not going anywhere!’’

Joining Brækhus in action at the Falconer Hall is Norwegian super middleweight Tim-Robin Lihaug who challenges for the vacant WBO Youth World title and light heavyweight hopeful Alexander Hagen. Full undercard details will be announced shortly. Tickets are available http://www.billetnet.dk.

The event will be available via Pay Per View on Viaplay, the Viasat satellite TV platform and on the Altibox TV platform. The price will be 299 NOK. Viaplay/Viasat will provide further details related to the Pay Per View event in the coming weeks.
