Cecilia Brækhus (26-0, 7 KOs) and Jennifer Retzke (15-1-1, 9 KOs) came face-to-face for the first time at today’s media training in Berlin ahead of their WBC, WBO, WBA & IBF Female World Welterweight Championship showdown on November 29 at the Falconer Hall at the Radisson Blu in Copenhagen.
‘’I’m in great shape and ready to defend my titles in style,’’ said Brækhus. ‘’To unify the division in my last fight was a dream come true. It’s hard to put into words what that meant to me. There is no way I’m going to let Retzke take these belts away from me. I’ve had a great 2014 and I’m ready to end the year on a high with another victory in Copenhagen.
‘’Cecilia is a great champion but this is my time to shine,’’ said Retzke. ‘’My training has been going really well. I’m in top condition. On November 29, there will be a new Undisputed Female World Welterweight Champion. All four belts are coming home with me!”
Brækhus’ clash with Retzke tops the bill at the Falconer Hall in Copenhagen. ‘The First Lady’ is joined in action by Norwegian super middleweight Tim-Robin Lihaug (8-1, 5 KOs) who challenges for the vacant WBO Youth World title and light heavyweight hopeful Alexander Hagen (4-1, 1 KO). Full undercard details will be announced shortly. Tickets are available via billetnet.dk.
The event will be available via Pay Per View on Viaplay, the Viasat satellite TV platform and on the Altibox TV platform. The price will be 299 NOK. Viaplay/Viasat will provide further details related to the Pay Per View event in the coming weeks.
