With a new trainer in his corner, middleweight Brandon Vera added a new title to his resume. This past weekend in Ft Worth, TX, Vera captured a minor title, defeating rugged Taronze Washington for the WPBF International Middleweight title. Vera (20-6, 12 KO’s) won a one sided decision in the eight round contest.
Although it may not be the title he ultimately wants, the victory may put Vera back in the picture for the bigger fights he covets. Coming off a disappointing performance against Andy Lee, Vera had fallen off the radar recently. He hopes this fight, along with a change in trainers puts him back in contention.
