The off again, on again, Adrien Broner/Vicente Escobedo fight saga continued this afternoon. In an interview with Pro Boxing Insider, former IBF lightweight champion Julio Diaz, said that the fight is a go. Julio’s brother, Joel Diaz who trains Escobedo, texted Julio during the interview and confirmed, that the fight is back on. Broner was penalized $60,000 in which half will go to Escobedo and the other half to the Ohio commission. A rumor is circulating that Escobedo’s purse has been bumped up to $400,000. Escobedo was to originally make $150,000. Broner is making $300,000 for the fight.
