The old rivalry between Denmark and Sweden will be revived on April 12th when Danish light welterweight Kasper Bruun (19-0-1, 4 KOs) faces Swedish Olympian Anthony Yigit (9-0-1, 3 KOs) in a Scandinavian showdown at the Blue Water Dokken in Esbjerg.
There will be plenty at stake when the two undefeated fighters go head-to-head in a ten round contest at the Nordic Fight Night.
”This will be one of those traditional battles for pride between Denmark and Sweden that we will both want to win at all costs,” said Bruun. ”I read somewhere that even before he turned pro Anthony believed he was the best boxer in Scandinavia, but we will see about that on April 12th. No matter what, this is going to be a great fight. I believe in myself, and I’m sure he does too. If not, he is going to be in big trouble.”
‘’Kasper is a great athlete,’’ said Yigit. ‘’His record of 19 wins out of 20 fights with no defeats speaks for itself. I have huge respect for him and the skills he shows in the ring. However, whatever the outcome, this is going to Kasper’s toughest fight to date, I’m going to make sure of that. So he better train hard and train smart. May the best man win.’’
‘’This is exactly the type of fight I envisioned when we first came up with the concept for the Nordic Fight Night,’’ said promoter Nisse Sauerland. ‘’A genuine 50/50 match up between two of Scandinavia’s top boxing prospects. Neither fighter will want to loose their unbeaten record and a win for either will act as a real springboard for their career. Fans at the Blue Water Dokken in Esbjerg are in for a treat!’’
Bruun and Yigit join rising Danish stars Torben Keller (9-0-1, 2 KOs) and Dennis Ceylan (10-0, 5 KOs) in action, alongside Swedish sensation Erik Skoglund (19-0, 10 KOs), who will make the second defence of his Eurpoean (EU) Light Heavyweight title. All opponents and undercard fights will be announced shortly. Tickets for the Nordic Fight Night in Esbjerg are available at http://www.billetten.dk.
