Once considered one of the very best fighters in the world, former champion Chad Dawson is looking to rebound following back-to-back losses to Andre Ward and Adonis Stevenson. Standing in his way this weekend will be George Blades, himself a fighter on a bit of a slide.
It’s no shame to lose to fighters of the caliber of Ward or Stevenson, but suffering knockouts in both have left many to question whether of not Dawson’s best days are behind him.
Michael Hunter has yet to taste defeat as a pro. At 4-0, the former two-time Olympian has had a nice start to his career, but has so far flown somewhat under the radar despite his amateur credentials and pedigree (son of Michael “The Bounty” Hunter).
We caught up to both of them just as they were finishing up camp at the Mayweather Boxing Club to head to Los Angeles where they will compete this weekend. Dawson is confident that he has a lot left in the tank and discusses it as well as swapping stories with Hunter about their sparring both now and years ago.
