Chavez Jr & Vera make weight, Salido loses belt on the scales

Saturday’s HBO World Championship Boxing doubleheader telecast airs live at 9:45 p.m. (ET/PT) from the Alamodome in San Antonio, TX.

The evening’s main event, a rematch of their September 2013 bout, pits super middleweight competitor Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. against Bryan Vera for 12 rounds.

Both Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. and Bryan Vera made weight comfortably, voiding the £250,000 penalty if  Julio Cesar Chavez Jr failed to make the 168lbs limit.

Elsewhere, Orlando Salido lost his WBO Featherweight title on the scales, coming in 2.25lbs over the 126lbs limit.  Vasyl Lomachenko, if successful, will win the vacant WBO Featherweight title in just his second professional fight.
