Chris John, making another defense against a lackluster foe, saw his bout end in a technical draw Sunday at the Indoor Tennis Stadium in Jakarta, Indonesia. A clash of heads between John and Satoshi Hosono resulted in John receiving a nasty gash over his right eye. The bout was stopped before going the required four rounds, meaning Chris John has retained his title for the 18th consecutive fight.
Of course defending a title that many times would seem to be an impressive accomplishment. However, due to his reluctance to fight outside of Indonesia, and having not fought a relevant opponent in years, John has become one of the most dismissed champions of a major title in all of boxing.
