Miguel Cotto is looking forward to coming back to the ring on December 1. His opponent is rumored to be Floyd Mayweather Jr. This is according to Emilio “El Grande” Pérez, from TIRO AL BLANCO. Mayweather Promotions have reserved Madison Square Garden for December 1. Their first encounter was a major success, with over 1 million pay per view buys. Cotto would have a tremendous home field advantage, because of the large Puerto Rican crowds, that attend his fights at New York City’s Madison Square Garden. Cotto is also 7-0 at the MSG and Puerto Ricans are the largest ethnic group in New York City. The Caguas native, lost a competitive but unanimous decision to Mayweather back on May 5, in Las Vegas. If Mayweather gets out of jail by September, the December 1 date will almost be a sure thing.
