Dewey Cooper has had a long and storied career in combat sports. As a veteran of kickboxing, MMA, and boxing, there is not much he hasn’t seen inside the ring. And through almost all of it, Jeff Mayweather has served as one of the main influences in his career. Now that Dewey is starting to transition into training himself, assembling an impressive young roster of fighters, it’s obvious that some of Mayweather’s techniques will have rubbed off on him.
We caught up with the pair during a break at the Mayweather Boxing Club, to get their thoughts about how they have both helped each other through the years. Dewey clearly believes that Jeff has had a big influence (along with One Kick Nick Blomgren) on his career, and Jeff is also grateful to have spent so many years helping Dewey perfect his craft.
