To the dismay of almost nobody, Keith Kizer resigns

It was announced on Friday night that Keith Kizer will be leaving his position as the executive director of the Nevada State Athletic Commission effective immediately.  Apparently, he will be taking a position with the Attorney General’s office.

Brett Okamoto of ESPN.com announced on Twitter that executive director of the NSAC will be stepping down from his post:

Just received email, Keith Kizer is leaving his role as NSAC executive director for Attorney’s General Office effective Jan. 27.

Kizer will continue with his duties as executive director until officially leaving his post on January 27.  There has been no replacement named yet, but the search will begin immediately.

Many in the boxing community have been highly critical of Kizer and his refusal to almost ever acknowledge any problems in the sport.  Judging has been the most common point of contention.  When Floyd Mayweather was given a draw against Canelo Alvarez on the scorecard of CJ Ross, the entire boxing world was shocked and appalled, except for Kizer, who defended the card.

We will search to find those who will fondly recall the Kizer regime, but it is unlikely we will be successful.
