One of the fighters on the rise in the sport of boxing is Errol Spence. If he continues at his current pace, his name will be known far and wide in very short order.
On Thursday night, Spence once again had a short night, knocking out an overmatched Jesus Tavera in the first round. Body shots did the damage as twice Spence sent his opponent to the canvas with a barrage to Tavera’s torso. The second time, the referee had seen enough, calling for a halt to the action.
Fighting at a clip of about once a month since his pro debut, he expects to be back in action again soon, possibly by the end of the month. With a tremendous buzz starting to surround this fighter, it won’t be long until we see him on pay-per-view.
