We spoke with Floyd Mayweather Sr. at the Mayweather Boxing Club on Monday to get his thoughts on the big fight this past weekend between Adrien Broner and Marcos Maidana. In what was considered a big upset, Maidana dominated Broner, knocking him to the canvas several times on his way to a lopsided decision over his much hyped opponent.
Floyd Sr. pointed out that a huge mistake Broner made was trying to employ a defense that is similar to that his son, Floyd Mayweather Jr., uses. However, he believes that if Adrien Broner were to seek him out to work with him, he could elevate the controversial fighter to heights he has yet to achieve.
It would certainly be wise for Adrien Broner to consider such an offer as it was quite obvious that although he is incredibly talented, he clearly has some holes in his game that should be addressed. For boxing fans, such a pairing would be entertaining as well considering both are quite outspoken. Time will tell if Broner will accept the offer, but time is one thing he has considering it will take quite awhile for him to recover from the injuries he sustained in the fight.
