Ronald Gavril (2-0) vs. Kenneth Schmitz (2-2-1) – 4 Rounds Super Middleweight
Ronald Gavril seemed to be able to land everything he threw at Kenneth Schmitz in
the 1st round. Referee Joe Cortez showed mercy on the vastly overmatched Schmitz
calling an end to the fight at the 1:53 mark of the first round.
Magomed Abdusalamov (14-0) vs. Maurice Byarm (13-1-1) – 10 Rounds Heavyweight
The “Freight Train” was derailed by the thunderous punching Magomed “Mago”
Abdusalamov in the 2nd round. Byram came out boxing in the 1st avoiding the
murderous punch from “Mago” but this didn’t last. Once “Mago” backed his opponent
into the corner he began landing vicious punch after vicious punch almost dropping
him at the end of the round.
As soon as the 2nd round started “Mago” started his terrifying assault right back
up. “Mago” dropped Byarm who was able to beat the count. “Mago” continued to apply
the assault causing referee Tony Weeks to finally call an end to the bout at 0:36 of
Round 2.
Rocco Santomauro (8-0) vs. Dewayne Wisdom (2-3) – 4 Rounds Featherweight
Rocco Santomauro glided through this fight with ease. The overmatched Wisdom seemed
to have no answer for Rocco’s speed and agility. The fast paced Santomauro took a
few opportunities to showboat in his dominant victory over Wisdom. After 4 rounds
the judges had it 39-37 x 2 and 40-36 in favor of Rocco Santomauro who moved 9-0.
On a side note RingNews24.com scored 40-36 x2 in favor of Rocco Santomauro.
Javier Fortuna (19-0) vs. Cristobal Cruz (39-3-2) – 10 Rounds Super Featherweight
Javier Fortuna continued to prove he is the truth when it comes to today’s boxing
prospects. Fortuna dominated the unheralded Cruz from the opening bell. Fortuna
dropped Cruz in the first and then again in the 2nd when the referee called the
fight at the 2:42 mark in Round 2. The young Fortuna became the first man to stop
the former titlist Cruz. The future is bright for Fortuna who continues to dominate
his way to his first title shot.
William Mitch Williams (5-2-1) vs. Manuel Otero (2-3) 4 Rounds Cruiserweight
Williams got more than he bargained for with his opponent Otero. Otero started off
playing the part of walk through opponent for Williams. Williams notched the 1st 2
rounds under his belt until Otero kicked up in the third. Otero looked to have
taken the 3rd and these two men dug down deep in the 4th and final round. Both men
tired went back and forth in the final round until Williams started landing and took
the edge on my scorecard. Both of us at RingNews24.com had it 39-37 Williams while
the judges had it 40-36 x 3.
