FULL CARD SET FOR BOXING’S RETURN TO THE COSMOPOLITAN OF LAS VEGAS THIS SATURDAY

FOX SPORTS NETWORKS, FOX DEPORTES & FUEL TV TO TELEVISE

LAS VEGAS (Feb. 1, 2013) – The return of boxing to The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas for the first time in nearly two years is rapidly approaching and this Saturday’s FOX Sports Networks, FOX Deportes and FUEL TV televised event is packed with hot prospects, former Olympians and hungry up-and-comers all looking to make names for themselves in the fight capital of the world.

This hard-hitting night of action is presented by Golden Boy Promotions and Mayweather Promotions and sponsored by Corona. Doors open at 6:00 p.m. PT on fight night and the first bell rings at 7:00 p.m. PT. The FOX Sports Networks and FOX Deportes bi-lingual simulcast will air live at 11:00 p.m. ET/8:00 p.m. PT. FUEL TV will rebroadcast the fight on March 31 at 12:00 p.m. ET/9:00 a.m. PT.

In the main event scheduled for 10 rounds in the welterweight division, East Los Angeles’ Frankie “Pitbull” Gomez (14-0, 11 KO’s) makes his first appearance of 2013 as he looks to extend his three-fight knockout streak against fellow prospect Lanard Lane (13-2, 8 KO’s) of Philadelphia.

The co-main event promises to be just as exciting, as 2004 United States Olympian Mickey Bey Jr. (18-0-1, 9 KO’s) of Cleveland puts his unbeaten record up for grabs against Greeley, Colorado’s Robert Rodriguez (7-2, 3 KO’s) in a 10-round lightweight clash. Also appearing on the broadcast will be 2012 United States Olympian Joseph “Jo Jo” Diaz Jr. (1-0) battling San Juan, Puerto Rico’s Jose Ruiz (2-2) in a four round bantamweight match-up.

Hard-hitting 2008 Gambian Olympian Badou Jack (11-0, 8 KO’s) will fight in front of fans in his adopted hometown of Las Vegas in an eight-round light heavyweight bout against Jonuel Tapia (8-3-1, 5 KO’s) of Aguas Buenas, Puerto Rico.

A six round clash of undefeated super middleweights will see Las Vegas’ Luis Arias (1-0) meet Lynchburg, Virginia’s Joshua Robertson (2-0, 1 KO) and in a four-round super middleweight battle, Las Vegas’ Lanell Bellows (3-0, 3 KO’s) squares off against Phoenix’s Roberto Young (5-6-1, 4 KO’s).
