With impressive genes on his side, Keith Hunter just might be the best fighter to come out of his family. His father was a talented heavyweight during the 90’s and his brother Michael was an Olympian and is currently 7-0 in the professional ranks. However, Keith is fighting at just 147 lbs., and if his debut was an indicator, he might just be better than both. In fact, he might be the next superstar that boxing is currently craving.
His dad and brother had slick skills that allowed them to beat most, but the youngest Hunter brings a ferocity into the ring that is rarely seen. Every punch is thrown with the intention of knocking someone out. In fact, his wars in the ring are legendary, and when he climbs through the ropes, all eyes are on him.
His professional debut summed up Keith Hunter perfectly. The first round he was a little off, but he was learning from his opponents mistakes. The second saw him capitalize on them, and when he realized Samuel Garcia didn’t like getting hit to the body, that’s where he shifted his focus. As the third started, the fight was all but over, and just a few seconds in he scored a brutal KO that left his foe on the canvas for several mintutes.
He might not have all the technical skills that some of the best fighters have, but he brings excitement and intensity few will be able to match. Though it’s early in his career, it’s easy to see the potential in this young kid. Reminiscent of a young Thomas Hearns, the fighters currently sitting above him in the welterweight division better beware. There is a bounty hunter coming your way.
