Jessie Vargas had an agreement to face fellow welterweight champ Kell Brook in the UK, but that all fell through when Brook decided to move up a couple of weight classes and take on GGG instead. There is a lot of speculation as to why he decided to do that, but all that matters for Vargas is that he is now without a dance partner.
However, what at first seemed like a negative may ultimately be a huge positive as he may be in line to take on the returning Manny Pacquiao. It is a fight Vargas has long coveted, and would offer a bigger payday, as well as the opportunity to beat one of the greatest names in the history of the sport.
Vargas spoke about both topics while attending the press conference for the upcoming Terence Crawford vs. Viktor Postol title fight.
