After losing a unanimous decision to Andrezej Fonfara, Glen Johnson has decided to hang up the gloves for good. The former fighter of year has thrilled fans for many years. Johnson biggest wins came against Roy Jones Jr., Antonio Tarver, and Montell Griffin. In 2004, Johnson knocked Jones, and defeated Tarver later in the year to become the world light heavyweight champion. ‘The Road Warrior’ also fought champions or champions at the time, Chad Dawson, Carl Froch, and Lucian Bute on their home turf.
This is what Johnson told ESPN’s Joe Tessitore after his loss to Andrzej Fonfara on ESPN’s Friday Night Fights….
“I feel like the end of the road is here. Father Time is undefeated, I really see no reason to move forward. If I can’t win a fight like this, I won’t achieve my ultimate goal, which is being a world champion. So if I can’t be a world champion then what’s the use?”
