WBO Latino super welterweight champion and the #8 world ranked fighter Jorge “Destroyer” Melendez (24-2-1, 23 KOs) has joined Miguel Cotto Promotions and H2 Entertainment, led by four-time world champion Miguel Cotto and entrepenur Hector Soto. The hard-hitting punisher will make his debut under his new promotional company on December 1 at Madison Square Garden in New York as part of the event “Showdown: Cotto vs. Trout.”

Melendez won his WBO Latino title in October 2011 against Eric Mitchell and he is coming off a big win against the hard puncher Milton Nunez (24-5-1, 22 KOs) last August at the Guillermo Angulo Coliseum in Carolina, PR.
