Jose Felix to risk unbeaten record Nov 16

His father Jose fought Marco Antonio Barrera and Johnny Tapia. His uncle Alejandro was in the ring against Mark ‘Too Sharp’ Johnson, VIC DARCHINYAN and Irene Pacheco. “It’s all boxing in the world of JOSE FELIX in Los Mochis, Mexico,” says his advisor Ray Alcorta.

Felix, just 21, puts his 25-0-1, 20 KO record on the line when he takes on southpaw Santos Benavides, 23-4-1, 17 KOs, of Chontales, Nicaragua in the main event on Top Rank’s Solo Boxeo Tecate boxing event at the AVI Resort Casino on Saturday, November 16.

Felix vs Benavides is scheduled for 10 rounds in the junior lightweight division. Felix is trained by his uncle Alejandro, a former world contender.

“Jose is now rated IBF #4 so this is a very important fight – a lot is on the line,” said Alcorta. “But to me Jose is such an advanced, mature fighter for his age. He can be patient, then strikes suddenly. He moves well and I think he’s tremendously exciting.”

Felix punches with big power. He is coming off two straight first-round knockouts.

The big card includes the WBO #1 ranked super bantamweight Chris Avalos, 22-2, 16 KOs, of Lancaster, California. He will take on Rolly Lunas, 33-8-1, 20 KOs, of San Diego.

Also on the card are:

JOSE BENAVIDEZ, JR., 17-0, 13 KOs, of Phoenix. He is a young, powerful, hard-hitting action super lightweight.

GABINO SAENZ, 11-0-1, 9 KOs, of Indio, California. He is one of the most popular fighters from Southern California who battles in the super bantamweight division. Gabino is managed by Cameron Dunkin who has many champions and star fighters on his roster.

A total of eight fights are scheduled.
