Kevin Newman II has been around the Mayweather family for most of his life, and when he made his debut last September, everyone had high expectations for that fight as well as his career. Unfortunately, he had to settle for a disappointing and controversial draw his first time out, but that still has not changed the optimism most have for the young fighter who is signed to Mayweather Promotions.
Perhaps nobody was harder on Newman after his debut than the young fighter himself. We sat down to talk with him for a few minutes to go over the memories of that night as well as what we can expect in his second fight which takes place in Las Vegas this Friday night. And while he wasn’t happy with his previous performance, he is confident that the adjustments have been made that will allow him to give it his best against his next opponent, Sharif Johnson.
